Future Search The Method

Public Workshops Overview

Future Search Network offers two public workshops, one on Future Search methodology, the second on a new perspective on facilitation applicable to all interactive meetings. They were developed and are conducted by Sandra Janoff and Marvin Weisbord.

Managing a Future Search - A Learning Workshop

Managing a Future Search is for facilitators and managers who want to acquire the tools needed to organize and manage future searches with integrity. The workshop is built around a simulated future search. The conference purpose and stakeholder roles are chosen by the participants as part of the learning design. The whole group then has a basis for a shared experience with the techniques for building community, helping a diverse group develop a mutual world view, creating desired futures, establishing common ground, expanding the range of choices and moving into action. Included are interactive sessions on planning a future search, facilitation, applications and follow-up.

Facilitating The Whole System in the Room

Facilitating The Whole System in the Room presents a new philosophy and method for transforming work groups. This seminar, integrating system change and personal growth, is for experienced group leaders who want to increase their capacity to help large, diverse groups stay task-focused and accomplish ambitious goals. In this workshop you will learn to manage polarized issues, structure meetings for group responsibility, manage your own anxiety about getting things done and keep groups from fragmenting over stereotypes and differences.
