Future Search in Dar Es Salaam

Dar es Salaam, 24 January 2005

Today a future search conference started in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on the Future of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Secondary Schools in Tanzania. The conference brings together nine different stakeholder groups, including high school students, high ranking government officials, development partners, the private sector and secondary school principals and teachers amongst others to explore and strategise ways of implementing ICT initiatives in secondary education.

The conference is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). It is facilitated by Han Rakels from the Netherlands and Tamara Sutila from South Africa, both members of the Future Search network.
